Efficient Pythagorean trees: Greed is good
نویسنده
چکیده
The Pythagorean tree is a fractal figure with a branching structure based upon the Pythagorean theorem. This paper describes the use of a greedy algorithm to encourage a homogenous spread of detail for asymmetrical trees and avoid localized regions of high detail. A model of prioritized branch growth based on this idea is used to optimize tree shape, allowing more visually interesting trees to be grown using significantly fewer segments. A comparison of the fractal dimension of the resulting shapes supports the general success of this approach. r 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Artistic box trees
This short note describes a development of the traditional Pythagorean tree fractal to produce interesting three-dimensional structures based on cubes rather than squares. Adding a 90˚rotation at each bifurcation encourages three-dimensional growth, creating increasingly artistic shapes as the branching angle decreases. 1. Pythagorean box trees The Pythagorean tree is a plane fractal constructe...

متن کاملTopological criterion for selection of quintic Pythagorean-hodograph Hermite interpolants
A topological approach to identifying the “good” interpolant among the four distinct solutions to the first–order Hermite interpolation problem for planar quintic Pythagorean–hodograph curves is presented. An existence theorem is proved, together with a complete analysis of uniqueness/non– uniqueness properties. A simple formula for finding the “good” solution, without appealing to curve fairne...

Forest structure consider the spatial arrangement of trees characteristics such as age, size, species, gender and so on is.This study aimed to investigate the structural diversity of three one-hectare stands in the gap making phase, were studied. For this purpose, three sample plots with a one hectare area were selected in Asalem beech stands which belonged to the structural features of the gap...
متن کاملCharacterizing Solution for Stock Portfolio Problem via Pythagorean Fuzzy Approach
The portfolio optimization is one of the fundamental problems in asset management that aims to reduce the risk of an investment by diversifying it into assets expected to fluctuate independently. A portfolio is a grouping of financial assets such as stocks, bonds, commodities, currencies and cash equivalents, as well as their funds counterparts, including mutual, exchange- traded and closed fun...
